Ung thư và Phòng ngừa : FAQ
[Endometrial cancer] Tissue biopsy for endometrial cancer is said to be a difficult test to undergo. When should I undergo this test?
[2007-09-19 10:08] (1,259)

Unlike the tissue biopsy for cervical cancer, this test for endometrial cancer is conducted in a similar way to artificial abortion.
Accordingly the patient may have lower abdominal pain after the test. It is not a simple examination as the patient is not allowed to have sexual intercourse for 3~4 weeks to prevent the inflammation after the test.

Nevertheless, the test is required in the following cases:
1. Women who have postmenopausal vaginal bleeding
2. When ultrasonic imaging reveal a material similar to pus inside the uterus during a woman’s menopause
3. When the patient has amenorrhea or ovulatory disorder, and unusual vaginal bleeding simultaneously before and/or after menopause
