You experienced a disease called pregnancy-related high blood pressure, also known as gestosis.

It usually occurs during the last 20 weeks of pregnancy. If the symptoms are severe, the whole body swells up and this may even be associated with seizure episodes. If the symptoms are not severe, it merely causes swelling of the legs and some rise in blood pressure.

Gestosis is the representative secondary high blood pressure that has a clear reason. Take regular visits to the obstetrician and take appropriate measures if such symptoms are discovered.
