Anyone can have a certain level of depression after delivery. However, most of new mothers recover and some show a serious symptom. It is because hormonal change, lack of sleep, environmental change due to the birth of a child and emotional pressure function in combination.
But if the symptoms last long or there are accompanied psychological symptoms, such as excessive feeling of guilt, delusion or auditory hallucination, the person needs help from a psychiatrist. Rarely, a husband becomes depressive in stead of a wife after a birth of a child. Of course, it is not called Postpartum Depression.
