[Depression] There is a patient with depression in my family. How does the family deal with it?

The most important thing to help a person with depression is to have an exact diagnosis and treatment. Have the patient receive treatment until the symptoms get better and if there is no improvement, it is good to encourage and help the patient to try other medical interventions.

The next important thing is to understand, sympathize and be tolerant for the patient sharing the pain that he/she is having now. However, if family members pressure the patient with haste, it would increase a sense of frustration and inappropriate feeling. For this reason, it is important to treat the patient gradually and steadily having a faith that he/she will be good someday.
